Origin
Limes are believed to have originated in Southeast Asia, specifically in the region encompassing Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. From there, they were spread to other parts of the world through trade and exploration. Limes were introduced to Europe during the Crusades and were later brought to the Americas by Christopher Columbus during his voyages in the late 15th century. Today, limes are cultivated in many tropical and subtropical regions around the world, including Mexico, India, Brazil, and the Caribbean.
