Origin
Garlic is believed to have originated in Central Asia, specifically in the region that includes modern-day Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. From there, it spread to other parts of Asia, including China and India. It was then introduced to the Mediterranean region by the ancient Egyptians and Phoenicians, and eventually made its way to Europe and the Americas through trade and exploration. Today, garlic is widely cultivated and used in various cuisines around the world.
